Wound healing, is the body's natural process of regenerating dermal and epidermal tissues. Plants and their extracts have immense potential for treatment of wounds.
Our research lab has been focused on treatment of wounds by medicinal plants and folk remedy. Animal models of wounds can be great help for research of therapeutic strategies. The wound healing lab has facilities such as: Surgery suite – small animals (guinea pigs – Rat – and rabbit), general and local anesthesia, individual housing, planimetry analysis for measuring wound contraction, histological measurements of wound healing and biomechanical characteristics of wound (in related departments)
